3cupsfresh broccoli florets, chopped to uniform size

Instructions
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add the sliced sausage to the pan and sauté for approximately 5-7 minutes, or until the sausage is nicely browned and cooked through. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Next, incorporate the sliced onion and minced garlic into the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onion is soft and translucent, and the garlic is fragrant.
Introduce the sliced red bell pepper and broccoli florets into the skillet. Continue to sauté for an additional 5-6 minutes, stirring often, until the broccoli is vibrant green and tender yet crisp.
For an extra kick, sprinkle the red pepper flakes over the sautéed vegetables, and season with salt and pepper to taste, stirring well to distribute the flavors.
Remove the skillet from the heat and immediately add the fresh lemon zest and juice. Toss everything gently to ensure the bright flavors are well combined with the sausage and vegetables.
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the hot mixture. Allow it to sit for about a minute so the cheese melts slightly into the dish.
