Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a loaf pan by lightly greasing it to prevent sticking.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground turkey. Add the breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Pour in the beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, dried oregano, dried thyme, and season generously with salt and pepper. Using your hands or a spatula, mix everything together until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
Carefully transfer the meat mixture into your prepared loaf pan. Use your hands to shape it into a well-formed, even loaf, ensuring it’s compact but not overly packed.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and mustard until you achieve a smooth glaze.
Pour half of the tangy glaze over the shaped meatloaf, making sure to spread it evenly across the surface. Set aside the remaining glaze for later.
Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for about 1 hour. The meatloaf is done when its internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C) and it is nicely browned on top.
During the last 10 minutes of baking, remove the meatloaf from the oven and brush the remaining tangy glaze over the top.
Once the baking time is complete, carefully remove the meatloaf from the oven. Let it rest in the pan for about 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For an appealing presentation, serve slices of meatloaf on a plate alongside creamy mashed potatoes and vibrant steamed broccoli. Drizzle additional tangy glaze over the meatloaf for an extra burst of flavor and garnish with fresh herbs if desired!
